Madrid

It's all about food.... ...and culture. This is pretty much everything our trip to Madrid was about 🙈. We spent last weekend there, on Monday we got back, and since yesterday I'm lying in my bed ill and with fever. The perfect situation to write a post 👍👌 By the way, my laptop is at home (I'm at my bf's house) so it's the first time I edited the pictures with apps ( Aviary and VSCO ) at least for a blogspost, and first time I'm writing a post from my smartphone. So I hope everything will go well 😃 Our trip to Madrid was of course beyond amazing, even though it was raining the whole weekend like crazy, but I mean it's Spain....it can only be good there 😉 For me the most important place to visit was the Museo del Prado ,  as an art historian it's of course a must as there are so many masterpieces!  And I love the works from Velázquez so much.... To see "Las Meninas" in real life was a dream come true!  My tip here would be,...

A typical end of the year résumé pt. 2/Beginning of 2017

Image
About 2016. Its been so long since I`ve posted the last time that I first of all had to remember how this actually works. I`ve already posted a "A typical end of the year résumé" post about 2014, somehow I couldn`t manage to write the same about 2015. Specially the end of 2015 and the beginning of 2016 was way to busy for me, it was my last months studying plus working that it didn`t leave me time to write here. Which I missed. A LOT.  Yesterday I was totally motivated to change my blog design, while doing this I read some old posts and felt how much I really missed this. Anyway this post should not be about my love for blogging, I wanted to talk to you about 2016.  Some really big changes (in a very good way) happend in 2016, although I know so many people who didn`t have a good 2016 and also the last months were pretty hard for my family and me.  Let`s start with the good part! I am so thankful and happy for 2016 because it gave me 2 special things: my Bac...

London love

Image
This May I got to know my absolutely favorite city I`ve ever visited so far: London!  It was love at first sight!  Already from the plane my heart felt totally for this city! And as we landed it got worse, I got amazed by everything haha. The whole culture, food (I loooooooove fish and chips), people (this incredibly politeness!!!), architecture, design (even every little coffeehouse it doesn't matter in which corner it stands has such a beautiful decoration), coffee (after London I got coffee addicted haha, so good coffee over there...), art (the absolutely highlight was for me the Alexander McQueen exhibition, I was speechless the whole time and running around like this emoji with hearts over the eyes :D and at the National Gallery Van Goghs "Sunflowers"), .... ok I could go on like this for ever so I will stop now but you probably got my feeling for London: ultimate crush! I hope I will try to make it possible to visit this ...

Instagram update

Image
Dear Instagramers. For all those, who love Instagram as much as I do, here are the pictures I posted in the last days. The first one is my home made ginger-bread-latte (not totally as good as Starbucks` one, but mine has definitely less calories :P) You will see that I was trying to deal with this insane cold we had some days ago, anyway it got a lot warmer these days!  Hope you visit my Instagram profile  and get to see my whole Instagram diary. cheers!

Chiara Ferragni on InStyle Germany cover

Image
A new era. Today in the morning I looked up on Instagram, during breakfast, as usual. But couldn't believe what I saw. A Blogger is on InStyle Germany cover :O Don't get me wrong, I am totally happy for her and incredibly prowd. The thing is, fashion and art are changing so much, so fast! And also I think that its actually pretty cool, we, human beings, are creatures of habits. What happened to that time when models were on covers? What happened to that time when going to a vernissage was a chique, classy thing? (I have a story to explain that ;)) I guess although being cramped to our habits, we will have to change with it and make those our new habits... So here is my story about the vernissage. Yesterday my feet were aching. And I had this vernissage in the evening I wanted to go (the first one on contemporary art) but before that I had university the whole day. So no way I was going to wear heels. Although I was feeling kind of bad and was afraid of being un...

Velázquez exhibition Vienna

Image
"Le peintre des peintres" (Manet).    Hi folks, how is your beginning of the new year? I`m actually very happy with mine, as there were some things I`ve been wanting to do for such a long time and am achieving this all these days. One of those was: posting more often! Which is happening pretty good this January. I`ll do my best to keep on with this, as it will get pretty difficult from mid January on (tests, tests, tests...). Let`s talk about Velázquez. As Manet called him "the painter of painters" I totally share this fascination and passion with him.  So you can imagine my happiness as I saw on my university schedule that there will be a lecture during the whole semester only about Velázquez. No way I was going to miss this.  Okay, so there I am sitting in the first lecture (I think it was already at the first one) and they tell me that there is going to be an exhibition with many most important and famous works from Velázquez in our Museum of Fine Arts...

Best Book Ever pt 2

Image
"What are you looking at? 150 years of modern art in the blink of an eye" From Will Gompertz. As I already mentioned here this is my absolutely favorite book right now! If you are interested in art and have your difficulties with modern art, or even more with contemporary art, you have to read this book!  I didn`t finish it yet, anyway I already love it and can`t wait to finish it, it`s getting more and more interesting!  Definitely a must for art historians! After finishing it, I will update you with a "summering it up" post ;)

Christmas Eve

Image
Throwback.  Today is the day where all the Christmas decoration is taken down all over the world. It`s a pity how fast this special time of the year goes by, and this is why I want to remember our Christmas Eve with this post.  This time Christmas was very special and different for us. As I usually celebrate every year with my mum and her husband, this time friends of us from Brazil visited and celebrated Christmas with us.  Not only their visit was beyond special, we also tried a new menu (which was so delicious) and woke up on the next day with this incredible winter wonderland!!!!! (pictures below). I don`t know if it is that I`m living in Vienna for so long now and we don`t have that much snow here, but I was really so impressed with how much it did snow over night! And the days afterwards...

A Typical end of the Year résumé

Image
2014. First of all happy New Year to all of you! May 2015 fulfill all your expectations and give you special experiences. We all like to write a year`s résumé post, where we can sum up what the last year was actually all about for every single one of us. And maybe there are some things we want to do better in the year afterwards. Okay, so where to start?  2014 was for me the year of traveling. I managed to travel a lot with my mum and family. And I love to travel. I want to keep going on with this, or better said get even better in 2015 and travel even more! There have been so many places on my bucket list for ages, it`s more than already time now to make those trips happen! I also managed to drive home and see my mum more often, which I will definitely keep on doing in 2015. 2014 was the year of experiences. Good and bad ones. But I also do appreciate the bad ones very much. Only making mistakes you can learn from them. I learned A LOT about this in 2014. Yo...

Summervacation pt. 4: Un jour en Strasbourg

Image
A must for an art historian. Studying history of arts and loving the Gothic style/period (also Renaissance is my favorite anyway, more about this soon) I was like a little child on Christmas excited about visiting the Strasbourg cathedral. After studying the significations about the figures etc on the doors/windows and about this special pillar inside the cathedral it was overwhelming for me to see this all in real life. Besides the great, beautiful cathedral, Strasbourg is a small lovely city with cute places and delicious food. This mix from German with French architecture/style is just so charming. I can really just recommend to visit it once!

summer vacation pt.3: Lake Constance

Image
Beautiful days.  Just posting these pictures today remembering my great vacations with my mum and my grandparents this summer. And how beautiful life is. Dias lindos.  Só estou postando essas fotos hoje, lembrando as minhas férias incríveis que tive esse verão com meus avós e minha mãe. E lembrando o quanto bela a vida é.

summer vacation pt.2 Switzerland

Image
Fairy-tale Land. Switzerland seriously won my heart. Living in Europe, I have already been there once, anyway I can`t remember when the last time was and probably only for some days, or I think we just passed, as it was on our route.  I grew up in Germany and live in Austria, anyway, even if there may not be so many differences from the landscape between these 3 countries, for me Switzerland is such a cute, fairy-tale land!  We stayed at my mum`s friend`s house. And there were sheep with bells, which rung in the morning (okay, I admit this wasn`t the funniest, cutest part at all) but the sheep were so cute with their bells and looking at me when I took a picture from them (have a look on the pictures below, SO cute!). We stayed in Einsideln and went one day to Luzern.  The only thing that didn`t amuse me at all, was the weather. Unfortunately way too cold for August, where it is supposed to be summer in Europe, I honestly would have lov...

Summer vacation pt. 1: Tübingen, Germany

Image
A little big town.    Right now I am at my mum`s house in Germany, totally happy about my stay here and that my grandparents from Brazil (who I only see once a year) are visiting us and my cousin is coming today either! As the last time my grandparents were in Europe is 8 years ago, there is still a lot we want to show them, when they are here.  So this is why my summer vacation this year turned to a full of travels vacation. And I am so happy about it as I definitely have a passion for travel.  Our first stop was Tübingen. As their "tourist-info-map" says, "a little big town". Ans it is so true. It seems so small, but there is so much to see! With this beautiful, cute houses you feel like you are walking through a puppet town, it`s incredible.  The next stops are coming in the next posts. If you want to stay updated about my travels, follow me on INSTAGRAM .

From toscana with love

Love for Italy.  Hi folks, I know it`s been a while again (waaaaay too long), one of the reasons is: you can`t imagine how long it took me to upload this post!  I know we are living in the 21st century, anyway it took me a very long time to get my first smartphone (!), for many reasons. Now that I have one and it`s camera is much better than my old Fuji I`m only taking pictures with it.  So I tried so many times to upload the pictures on the blog and it never worked! Till now!  Okay lets get to this post: It means a lot to me! First, I have always wanted to add some posts about art to the blog. And this is going to happen in this post, but especially in some next posts.  I`ve been to the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, when a dream came true for me, and I can`t wait to share with you my favorite paintings which are located there.  I was jumping like a little child through the gallery, so happy about all the beautiful paintings, which I know all fr...

#bahiamemories Last week: Vila Galé

Image
Enjoying some family time. Finally (pooh, that took a long time) here is my last #bahiamemories, from my 3rd week there in November 2013. I already mentioned many times in these two posts ( here and here ) how beyond amazing the time was that I spent in Bahia last November.  This pictures show even more what a stunning paradise it is there. In this post I`m showing you the second week I spent there with my whole family in the all inclusive hotel Vila Galé . It was just an incredible time, the weather was perfect, we talked and laughed a lot and enjoyed so much the time together. I started to do crochet, thanks to my mum and my grandma, they really took a passion out of me, it`s my favorite hobby right now. (By the way there is some project coming in the next months that has to do with it, stay tuned ;)) As you know I actually  don`t like to post family pictures, but these are just to cute :)

#bahimamemories: My cousin`s wedding

Image
Surreal moments. Sometimes (in the most inappropriate times, like under the shower, during work,...) I get the best ideas for the texts I want to write on my post, but with no possibility to write it down! -.-  This unfortunately happened again with this post, anyway I can remember some parts of the text I wanted to write, so I`ll do my best now. My cousin`s wedding was just surreal.  The wedding was on a Saturday. On the Friday before they had a "welcome cocktail party" that was beyond amazing and with the location, the music and everything this could have been already the wedding. But it wasn`t it was "just" the welcome party. As I already said, the location was unique, I have never been to somewhere like this before. As you maybe already read on this post , my cousin married in Salvador, Bahia, in Brazil. For the welcome party, which also was a white party, w e got to a skyscraper where a "Baihana" (a woman from Bahia) welco...

#bahiamemories: First week

Image
Sorria, você está na Bahia. Smile, you are in Bahia. That`s what stands all over the place when you arrive in Salvador airport.   Anyway, how could you not? Bahia (which is a state in the north of Brazil) is like heaven on earth, it`s paradise. Why? Just have a look on the pictures below and you will totally understand! ;) But beyond the landscape I also love their food! They cook a lot with coconut milk and palm oil, lots of shrimps and fish, this state is like made for me! (Have a look on the "Moqueca de Camarão" below ;)) I`ll try to post some "Bahian recipes" in the next weeks. Why have I been there in November? First of all for my cousin`s wedding. But when you fly to Bahia (specially in my case being so far away) you can`t stay for just one weekend, right? So we decided to spend the first week in a house on the beach with friends, than we had the wedding, than we stayed one week in the hotel  Vila Galé (a hotel chain from Portugal), which was at the...
